Online dance music store Beatport has launched an iPhone app, which lets customers browse its catalogue, preview tracks and add them to their virtual shopping carts, ready for purchase next time they visit the full Beatport website. It gets around Apple’s restrictions – it doesn’t allow rival download stores to iTunes on iPhone – giving people a way to browse on the go, then pay from their computer. Discovery features are built into the iPhone app too, with users able to browse songs by the same artists, labels and remixers as the tracks they’ve selected.
