Japanese mobile operator Softbank is reportedly mulling taking a stake in local music distributor Victor Entertainment. Japan’s Daily Yomiuri reports that the operator will start by buying a minority stake from JVC Holdings, but may increase that to a controlling share in the next few years. It would be one of the first examples of a mobile operator taking this kind of stake in a content firm. Victor is the fourth largest music distributor in Japan. Source: Billboard
