Music firm Omnifone has announced the appointment of a new CEO, and plans for global expansion. The new boss is Jeff Hughes, who previously worked as EVP and chief information officer at satellite broadcaster BSkyB. Former CEO Rob Lewis has moved to a full-time role as executive chairman, while CFO Matthew Bagley now has additional responsibilities for business development. The latter will be important: Omnifone says it plans to launchh in 30 more countries in the next year, including the US. Lewis has praised Hughes’ appointment: “His managerial skill set and experience, combined with our expanded executive team, will facilitate the rapid growth of Omnifone’s cloud based digital content services internationally, ensuring that Omnifone is ready to deliver digital media services to tens of millions of subscribers on a global basis over the next few years.” Source: Press Release
