Is fan-funding just an alternative to a major label deal? Seemingly not. Atlantic Records has signed a partnership with Pledge Music around a new EP by artist Natty. The acoustic collection will be sold online, with fans able to pledge more money to get extras, including a Fair Natty Trade T-shirt, a personal solo performance in the fan’s home, the chance to introduce him on-stage, a mention in the EP credits, and the chance to spend a day in the studio with the star remixing one of their own tracks. A portion of the money raised will go to the Sarcoma Research Fund charity. “I think it’s brilliant that a major label like Atlantic Records has the vision to work with a company like ours who provide a direct link between artists and their fans,” says Pledge MD Malcolm Dunbar.
