Ad-supported online TV portal Hulu appears close to launching its long-trailed premium service. The Los Angeles Times reports that Hulu Plus will launch on 24 May, and will cost $9.95 a month. The hook is expected to be access to a deeper archive of TV shows, rather than just the most recent episodes. However, Hulu is taking a leaf out of Spotify’s book by making mobile a key part of its premium offering. It seems the company is working on an iPad app to debut alongside Hulu Plus too. Although focused on TV, Hulu also has several licensing deals with labels for music videos.
