Voice-over-IP firm Skype has published a strongly-worded blog post criticising mobile operators for their attitudes towards data-intensive mobile services. “Some very large telecom companies are starting to say Internet, especially when accessed with mobile devices, is a drain on their networks and they want to charge Internet companies fees to run its data on “their” network,” writes its European director of government and regulatory affairs Jean-Jacques Sahel. Naturally, Skype is talking about VoIP, but this issue of mobile net neutrality is just as relevant to streaming music services that use the 3G network. Source: Mobile Entertainment
