We couldn’t possibly do justice to Rhapsody’s Tim Quirk’s lengthy blog post entitled ‘The Quiet Revolution’ in a paragraph. It includes a section digging into BigChampagne’s stats on ‘Tracks Per Fan’ – how many songs the average fan of an artist has in their library. Lil Wayne’s TPF score is 17.26, way ahead of the Beatles (8.22), Eminem (7.66) and Michael Jackson (7.59). But he also looks at a stat called ‘Artist Correlation’, which tells you how many fans of one artist listen to another. For example, 67% of Guns’n’Roses fans also listen to Eminem, 38% of Beck fans also listen to Eric Clapton, and 73% of REM fans have at least one track by rapper T.I. He quotes BigChampagne CEO Eric Garland: “People are not radio formats”. Indeed. Source: Rhapsody Blog
