UK artist Funeral for a Friend are the latest band to sign up with fan-funded platform Pledge Music. In their case, it’s to raise money for a new EP, which will be distributed via the service. Extras on offer to pledgers include signed copies, access to exclusive live shows, the chance to meet the band AND drink their rider, a guitar lesson with guitarist Kris Coombs-Roberts, and a slot singing backing vocals for their new album. A percentage of profits will go to charities includine PETA, the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. It’s only just gone live, but the band have already raised 80% of their targeted dosh.
