Analyst firm ABI Research is the latest to publish big-number predictions on the downloadable apps market, predicting that it’ll rise from 2.4 billion downloads last year to nearly seven billion in 2013. Interestingly though, it thinks those numbers will then start to decline, partly because more companies will shift to web apps rather than downloads, and partly because more apps will be preloaded on smartphones.
