Ever played LittleBigPlanet? The game – for Sony’s PS3 and PSP – let people create their own platform levels featuring the game’s Sackboy characters. A sequel has just been announced that will go several leaps further, letting people create completely new games. “Think top-down racing games, multiplayer shooters, flying side-scrollers, RPGs, etc. The possibilities are really endless,” blogs Sony’s Eric Levine. What we’ll be interested in is how music will fit into LittleBigPlanet 2, and specifically whether Sony will look to include more licensed music. There are challenges around user-generated content and music in games, but if anyone has the clout to tackle them, it’s Sony. Source: US PlayStation Blog
