Acts signed to Simon Fuller’s management company 19 Entertainment have collectively sold more than 160 million songs on iTunes, the company has announced. A big chunk of those downloads have come from the partnership between iTunes and American Idol, where songs are made available shortly after each episode airs in the US. “The future is all about how the digital and the physical worlds can co-exist,” he tells Reuters. “We have to reinvent, in music, TV and movies, that interaction between the consumer and the content we create.” Fuller’s next big project is If I Can Dream, which is airing initially on online TV portal Hulu. Meanwhile, you can see his influence in the stellar digital sales being racked up by another US TV show, Glee.
