The days when the music industry got excited about Second Life seem a long time ago. Mainly because they are. But there is a new generation of virtual worlds emerging with music at their heart. We’ve had Music Mogul, Loudcrowd, Mixm8 and ToonsTunes, and now there’s a new entrant: Rocktropia. Described as a “theme park for rock fans”, it’s part massively multiplayer game and part virtual world, with plans for branded zones for specific artists.
