A survey by Boston Consulting Group has found 49% of respondents plan to buy a tablet or e-reader device in the next three years. 28% of them said they plan to buy one in the next year. 66% of respondents said they would prefer an iPad-like device that does lots of things, rather than a Kindle-like device that’s mainly for e-books. However, the survey found that $200 is the sweet spot in terms of price for US respondents. The cheapest iPad currently costs $499 there.
