Online TV and music video portal Hulu is launching a new version of its player, with new features including ad tailoring and personalised recommendations. The former involves giving viewers thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons to click when watching ads on the site, to let Hulu know if they want to see ads for similar products in the future. Meanwhile, Hulu VP of product Eugene Wei says the company isn’t launching an HTML5 version of its site just yet, even though its current Flash-based incarnation doesn’t work on iPads or iPhones.
