The latest research from comScore reveals that 23.8% of mobile users across five key European markets (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) listen to music on their phones. However, while 20.3% are sideloading music from their PC to their handset, only 1.9% are downloading full-tracks over the air. The UK is an interesting market: the number of people who download full tracks (2.1%) is about to overtake the number of people who download ringtones (2.2%) – although that says more about the decline of the latter. See the Digital Marketing section of this Bulletin for some exclusive data on which mobile music stores are performing best in Europe. Source: Press Release
