Songkick boss Ian Hogarth has been named as the UK Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year 2010, in a contest organised by the British Council. He wins a £5,000 grant that will be spent on a collaborative project with the body in China. “China is a place for us to learn, and a place to grow,” he tells Music Week. “I’d like to thank the British council teams in China and London for creating such a fantastic opportunity.” Songkick is a live community site that has details and setlists from more than 1.2 million gigs. It recently inked a deal to exchange its data with PRS for Music.
