US rappers 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg are the subjects of new iPhone apps offering to stream their back catalogues on-demand for a one-off $1.99 download fee. They’re not officially licensed. However, the developer behind them – WebTechies – says that “this application is 100 % legal (Regarding Song Broadcasts) and all the due royalties are timely paid to proper authorities” and goes on to say that “If you are a label, song writer, copyright owner or a singer, please feel free to contact us for any kind of information and we will be happy to assist you with complete details regarding the song broadcast rights.”
