Amanda Palmer and OK Go are teaming up for a joint webcast tonight, hosted by livestreaming service Ustream. The gig is to promote a pair of creative fan-contests being launched on a separate site, Creative Allies. Palmer is asking her fans to upload original art about “what it means for an artist to be unrestricted, independent and free” – she recently parted company with her label – while OK Go are looking for fan-created logos for a USB drive they distribute at gigs.
