At least, that’s what Viacom says: the media giant claims that Google offered it $592 million in guaranteed revenues if it licensed TV shows and films from MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures to YouTube. The offer came to nothing – Viacom apparently wanted $700 million – but it provides more intriguing context to the latter’s $1 billion lawsuit against Google/YouTube for copyright infringement.
