Social networking firm Planetwebfoot has launched a new service called Stage9 Software, which is designed to help bands create their own online communities. Features include promotional modules, discography sections and media galleries, with SMS-based marketing elements too. It sounds a bit like Ning, which recently shifted to a premium system. Universal Motown artists After Midnight Project is one of the first bands to sign up. “As an artist and front man to a rockband, I have to stay close and interactive with my fans,” says singer Jason Evigan. “This is the first site that completely makes this possible on every single level. I hang out for hours on there a day!” Really?
Stage9 Software hopes to take on Ning
