Online lyrics site MetroLyrics has launched a $2.99 iPhone app, which lets people search its database of more than one million song lyrics. It includes access to the site’s charts, social features via Twitter and Facebook, and a YouTube tie-in letting people watch videos of the songs whose lyrics they’ve been looking up. There’s also a location-based feature to see what songs are popular near you. It’s the latest mobile launch for MetroLyrics, which last year signed a deal with Gracenote to extend its licensed lyrics to mobile platforms.
