Spotify denies claim that it has 30k US users already

TechCrunch has run an article claiming that Spotify already has 30,000 users in the US, based on “chatter coming out of the Stockholm tech scene”. Those users would presumably be using proxy servers and other workarounds to access the service. The same article suggests that the delay in Spotify’s official launch plans is entirely due to the fact that – in the words of a source – “Warner are being arseholes”. However, Spotify has robustly denied both claims in a statement: “We have great relationships with all of our label partners and we don’t have 30,000 users in the US, this is completely factually incorrect.”
