Microblogging pioneer Twitter has advertised for a Washington DC-based executive, explaining that it is seeking a “point of contact with a variety of important people and organisations looking to get the most out of Twitter on both strategic and highly tactical levels.” In turn the executive will help Twitter understand how to “serve candidates and policymakers across party and geographical lines”. An interesting role for the right person, then: not just tech support for newbie political tweeters, but also a kind of lobbyist and PR person within the Washington political machine.
