Twitter is launching its own URL shortener, with plans to offer content recommendations to people based on the links they’ve been clicking on Twitter. “We want to be able to build services and APIs that can make algorithmic recommendations to users based on the content they are consuming,” explains Raffi Krikorian from Twitter’s Platform Team. “Gathering the data from t.co will help make these possible.”
