The UK OCC has revealed that digital now accounts for one in six albums sold in the UK – 15.8% of all album sales, compared to 11.3% at this point last year. More than 6.64 million digital albums were sold in the first five months of 2010. Florence + The Machine’s Lungs is the biggest selling digital album of the year so far, having broken the 100k mark. The OCC identifies several artists whose digital sales are punching above their weight, including The xx, who have notched up 36.3% of their debut album’s sales digitally.
