MTV has announced plans for a competition to hire a TJ – a Twitter Jockey. No, really. It’s rounding up 20 hopefuls to compete in online challenges this summer, with the winner getting a job overseeing MTV’s official Twitter stream. “While they won’t be on TV the way VJs were, they will always be on,” explains MTV exec Dave Sirulnik. The contest might sound silly, but the job is a serious one – the winner will get a six-figure salary, and will be seen as a key conduit between MTV’s online audience and the execs. Two of the 20 finalist slots remain up for grabs, and viewers are being asked to nominate their friends. Source: Mashable
