Layar is one of the leaders in the nascent mobile augmented reality space, and has attracted the attention of the music and other creative industries with its AR browser app. Now the company has signed deals with LG, Samsung, TCT Mobile and other handset firms, which it claims will see the app preloaded on 75% of handsets that ship globally next year. The app has already been downloaded by 2.2 million people, of whom 700,000 have used it in the last month.
