DJ Richie Hawtin is known for being an early adopter of new technology – witness his ability to tweet from his decks. Now he’s taking up a new app called Griid, which is being described by developer Liine as a “modular touch control system for Ableton Live and iPad”. Unveiled at the Sonar festival last week, it lets artists trigger clips during their live sets, using a touch-friendly iPad interface. More modules will be launched in the coming months to “turn the iPad into the ultimate, fully-integrated control hub for your entire Live show”. Source: Press Release
