Rovi is making a big push for its Rovi Music data service in Europe, extending it to 33 countries across the continent. The company says it has country-specific datasets for more than 2.5 million albums and 23.5 million songs, categorised by mood, theme and genre. “When consumers are searching for music for a particular occasion or just to suit their mood – in a collection of one hundred to five hundred to a thousand songs – data about their digital files becomes essential,” says EVP of data services John Moakley.
