Augmented reality app Layar, has launched a Rolling Stones layer by Polydor Records – developed by Augment Reality. The campaign is called Exile on Your Street, and it ties in with the recent re-release of the Stones’ Exile on Main Street album. Users can ‘stick’ virtual posters to real-world locations using the Layar app, attaching their comments and a snippet of one of the album’s tracks. Other Layar users can then see those virtual posters when using the app. The campaign also has elements on Facebook and its own website. It launched last Friday, and is one of the first examples we’ve seen of a label using Layar.
