US body Sound Exchange will distribute $54.8 million to artists and rightsholders for the second quarter of 2010 – beating the $51.7 million record set in the previous quarter. Besides digital growth, the performing rights body says it’s cleaned up bad data and benefited from its partnerships with other companies to sign up more artists. Sound Exchange hasn’t announced how much it collected during the quarter though, which may provoke its critics. Source: Hypebot
