Sonicbids has traditionally charged bands to apply for slots at gigs and festivals, but now via a partnership with retailer Musician’s Friend, it’s introducing ‘no-cost listings’ to help bands find gigs without having to stump up. “We know that it takes on average, about 10-11 submissions for a band to get their first gig on Sonicbids,” CEO Panos Panay tells Hypebot. “After that, they get the hang of it. We feel that this move to no-cost listings will encourage artists to experiment more and ultimately land more gigs.” Musician’s Friend is sponsoring the initiative, and it’ll start as a trial over the coming weeks.
