US band Madina Lake is using fan-funding platform Pledge Music to raise money for its bassist, Matthew Leone. He’s currently critically ill in hospital after being attacked in the street, but didn’t have health insurance. Having worked with the band before, Pledge says it’s waiving its commission on funds raised through the new project. Pledges will go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which helps musicians with medical bills in situations like this. Having raised 189% of the funds required for their next EP, everything over 100% will go to the charity.
