US music locker service MP3tunes has launched a new initiative called Buy Anywhere – Listen Everywhere, which is focusing around people streaming and downloading their purchased music to any device, particularly Android smartphones. “Using the new Android client we just released every song you play (stream) is automatically downloaded to your music directory on your Android device,” founder Michael Robertson tells Music Ally. “The file is cached, but much more. It’s actually downloaded and usable in any way the consumer likes on the mobile device. So you can play that song using any app on the Android phone.” Two video demos are linked to below. “The point here is that users can use multiple platforms today – no need to be stuck in the walled orchard of Apple,” says Robertson.
