MySpace has long been criticised for the messy nature of its basic profile page design compared to Facebook. Now the social network is rolling out a redesign, which includes a new left-hand navigation menu, more focus on the stream of data from users’ friends, the option to follow those friends on other social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and an overall cleaner look and feel. “We’re testing a new look and feel of our site among users and the response so far has been positive,” says a statement from MySpace. In separate news, MySpace has bought social messaging startup Threadbox, whose service blends email and instant messaging into one inbox. That hints at an upcoming shakeup for MySpace’s own messaging features.
