UK newspaper The Guardian has named Apple CEO Steve Jobs as the most powerful person in the media, in its annual Media Guardian 100 list. “It might look like just a giant iPhone, but the iPad turned our conception of a ‘computer’ on its head, and possibly with it the media industry as well,” says the paper. Other figures of relevance to the music industry making the list: Google’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page (2nd); Simon Cowell (6th); Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg (7th); UMG’s Lucian Grainge (23rd); Virgin Media’s Neil Berkett (55th).
