US online radio service Pandora has signed up its 60 millionth user, the company announced at the New Music Seminar in New York. It took three months to add the last 10 million users, and four months to add the 10 million before that, indicating that the service’s growth is speeding up. Pandora now has songs from more than 90,000 different artists in its catalogue, and 80% of those artists are played each month. Pandora raised an undisclosed new round of financing in June, and was one of the first iPhone apps to take advantage of the iOS 4 software’s background multi-tasking capabilities, which is likely to have boosted usage.
