Services like Ustream and Livestream have a new rival: Xumanii. The company describes itself as a “revolutionary live media production, marketing and social networking site that encompasses and surpasses the best of Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube, Ustream, and others”. Quite a boast. It lets artists create profiles, then stream live video footage to them of gigs and events. It supports multi-camera productions and live editing, and also lets its users sell ‘digital tickets’ to their events to fans, as well as selling advertising around the live streams.
