Amazon has announced its latest set of financial results, revealing net sales of $6.57 billion – up 41% year-on-year – and net income of $207 million, which was up 45%. Music wasn’t mentioned once in the announcement or subsequent analyst call, so there’s still no official word on how the Amazon MP3 store is growing. Amazon remains excited about the growth of its Kindle e-books business, and CEO Jeff Bezos revealed an interesting stat: “In the last twelve months, customers around the world have ordered more than $1 billion of products from Amazon using a mobile device.” Set that alongside eBay’s claim that it expects to do $1.5 billion of transactions this year on mobile.
