GfK, in June this year smartphones accounted for 73.5% of all new handsets sold on a monthly contract in the UK. What’s more, it identifies strong growth for Google’s Android OS, which took a 13.2% share of the UK contract market in Q2 2010, as operators started pushing Android handsets aggressively.
