The latest startup to offer a visual spin on navigating your music collection is Playlost. It’s a web app that scans your hard drive for MP3s, then displays your tracks as nodes on the screen. Clicking on a song starts playing it – this is all local, no tracks have been uploaded to a server – and you can click on adjacent songs to start building a playlist. The service was created by developer Zach Dicklin as a concept, and works on Macs and PCs.
