Having won two seats in the European Parliament in last year’s European elections, the Swedish Pirate Party has released its manifesto, focusing on privacy, culture and knowledge. The details won’t come as a surprise: the Party wants to legalise non-commercial filesharing, while proposing charges for companies and bodies who sue individuals for filesharing – including a jail sentence of up to two years for ‘copyright abuse’.
