Broken Bells made one of the first genuinely interesting iTunes LPs, and now they’ve turned their attention to online video. The duo – producer Danger Mouse and Shins frontman James Mercer – have launched an interactive 3D video for their new single October. Wired describes it as a feast of “mathematical equations, geometric shapes and evocative illustrations”. It’s pretty trippy. The band worked with Flash developer Richard Lehmann and illustrator Matthew Hollister on the project. It’s an example of how an increasing number of artists are thinking first about online and interactivity when planning new videos, rather than TV.
