UK live-focused site Songkick has signed partnerships with YouTube and Vevo, according to CEO Ian Hogarth. From this week, YouTube’s music section will include listings of upcoming gigs based on the user’s location, drawn from Songkick’s database. Meanwhile, Songkick-powered listings are also being added to artist and video pages on Vevo, with Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber already getting the treatment.”From our point of view, this is one step closer to making it incredibly easy to find local concerts, whether you’re on Songkick or on another site discovering music,” says Hogarth. Songkick currently attracts 1.3 million visitors a month to its own site, and has partnerships with Hype Machine, Grooveshark, Nokia and the BBC, as well as sharing data with PRS for Music.
