Conduit Labs is a name that will be familiar to many Music Ally readers: the social games firm signed a deal with Universal Music Group earlier this year to include songs in its Facebook games Music Pets, Super Dance and Loudcrowd. Now the company has been acquired by social games giant Zynga, of Farmville fame. Conduit Labs will become Zynga Boston, one of its new parent company’s development studios. The move is Zynga’s first significant step into the emerging crossover between music and social games. If it can do as good a job selling music as it does selling virtual tractors, this is a good thing indeed. Zynga just appointed former MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta as its EVP of business too.
