Research2guidance is the latest analyst to put some big numbers on the smartphone apps market. It claims that in the first six months of this year alone, 3.8 billion apps were downloaded, generating revenues of $2.2 billion. That’s up from an estimated 3.1 billion downloads in the whole of 2009.
