MySpace has acquired some of the assets and team members of startup Threadbox, whose real-time messaging technology has been described as a more useful Google Wave. “We plan to apply our technology there in a variety of ways,” writes CEO Michael Cerda. “Those of you that were using Threadbox socially may even find what we are building at Myspace interesting!” MySpace has yet to announce full details of its revamp, but it seems messaging will be a key ingredient, along with content (including music) and a focus on user privacy to tempt people back from Facebook.
