Music videos portal Vevo launched its iPhone app on 18 August. In just eight days since then, it’s been downloaded more than one million times, the company announced today.It’s been helped by promotion on Apple’s App Store – it was named iTunes App of the Week. The app is free, thanks to a sponsorship deal with AT&T, which will also have fuelled its impressive download numbers.Vevo is currently working on a version for Apple’s iPad, as well as Android and other smartphones.Meanwhile, the company is also trying to send the one-million news viral, by getting fans to retweet it for a chance to win a $100 iTunes gift certificate.
