Search engines are not responsible for the content of sites that they link to, according to a new ruling from an Argentinian court, which overturned a previous decision against Google and Yahoo’s local services. That previous ruling wasn’t music focused – it related to a celebrity angry at links to pages that damaged her ‘moral character’, apparently. But now the National Chamber of Civil Appeals has ruled that search engines are only liable for the content of other sites if they fail to remove illegal content on being notified about it.
