Pandora founder Tim Westergren says the company is currently activating 100,000 new users every day on mobile devices – the latest sign of how its apps are fuelling its sharp growth. He revealed the news at a press launch focused not on mobile, but on Samsung’s connected TVs. Samsung says it plans to spend $70 million on marketing its next-gen tellies, and is courting developers to make apps that run on them – hence Pandora’s presence. “This is all happening in a hurry for the devices that are going into the home,” said Westergren. “You could make an app that is part of this massive sea change, across tens of millions of TVs at some point.”
